Free trial: decide whether the tool suits your room

Use a trial on the room you're actually working on. Compare a couple of styles or one focused change, such as a new cabinet color. This tells you more than generating unrelated sample rooms.

A small allowance can be enough to choose a direction. If you already have an option you like, move on to samples, measurements, or a shopping list.

One-time credits: work at your own pace

A credit pack suits a project with pauses: you try a palette, discuss it with a partner, visit a supplier, then return for another variation.

ImagineMyHouse's Quick Pack credits are valid for one year; GenRoom Start credits last 180 days. Compare image allowances rather than raw credit counts: ImagineMyHouse Basic uses 10 credits per image, and GenRoom's 36-credit Start pack covers 18 standard generations.

How image quality changes the cost

In ImagineMyHouse, Basic uses 10 credits per image and Pro uses 40 credits per image. A batch of four images costs four times the single-image amount. The tool shows the total before you generate.

Suppose you want to compare three bedroom styles, refine the one you like, and produce a couple of Pro versions. You could reserve credits like this:

An 800-credit Quick Pack covers this example and leaves 620 credits. At the pack's rate, those 180 credits represent about $2.23 of the balance; the purchase remains $9.90. Additional attempts use more of the remaining credits.

For a bedroom project like this, first decide whether you want the lighter overall scheme. Then spend follow-up edits on a specific choice, such as the bedding or bedside tables. When does a subscription become the better buy?

For 15 Pro images for one room, ImagineMyHouse's $9.90 Quick Pack leaves 200 credits. For 30 Pro images within one month, Starter's $12.90 monthly allowance leaves 400 credits; one Quick Pack would be too small.

For those 30 images spread over several months, two Quick Packs cost $19.80. Two months of Starter cost $25.80 and include a larger monthly allowance.

Read the annual payment as well as the monthly figure

An annual plan often displays a monthly equivalent. For ImagineMyHouse Starter, $9.90 per month billed annually means $118.80 paid for the year, with 1,600 credits allocated each month. The month-to-month option is $12.90.

Planner 5D lists Premium at $19.99 with monthly billing or $59.99 billed annually. Its published annual price can look attractive for a project lasting several months; include the full upfront payment when comparing it with a one-time photo-design pack.

Choose annual billing when you expect to keep using that product. For an uncertain first project, a free trial, pack, or monthly plan gives you a smaller initial commitment.

What else belongs in the project budget?

The software payment covers the design work you do in the tool. Keep three other costs separate:

• Samples: paint, fabric, tile, or cabinet samples to compare in your room.
• Purchases and installation: the furniture, materials, delivery, and work needed for the changes you choose.
• Professional help: measurements, detailed planning, sourcing, or project coordination if you want someone to handle those parts.

Often it is charged by credits or a subscription allowance. One room can use several images as you compare styles and refine details. Count the generations you expect to make, including follow-up edits.

Do retries and edits cost credits?

A new generation or image edit usually uses credits even when it concerns the same room. In ImagineMyHouse, the displayed amount applies to each submitted generation; failed jobs have their charged credits returned. An alternative you decide not to use still counts as a completed generation.

Can I pay once without subscribing?
